About

This site is dedicated to promoting artists and their art as well as introducing tools and opinions that help make art as a profession more accessible for ARTISTS.

Today’s artist can rarely afford to be a “starving artist” and with a little encouragement, many artists, who would have given up, may find a way to participate in the art market.  Of course, we also want to welcome the new collector to the site, providing information on how to be a “smart buyer” and collector.

You may have noticed that the blog has slowed activity this year.  In an effort to double our resources, we have merged with another highly successful blog: Tucson Artist.  As of June 2009, the focus of this blog will be on Tucson area artists and galleries as we take over for http://tucsonartist.livejournal.com.  We will still feature articles about the profession in general and post international arts information, but our staff will now include the Tucson Artist team.

If you would like to submit a Call to Artists, Announcement of Exhibit or Performance, or you would like to submit an article on any related subject, contact the Editor at artofthedealblog@gmail.com or you can still send submissions via tucsonartistblog@gmail.com.

Please include a jpeg with your submission if at all possible. Press Releases are accepted for publishing. All articles and press releases may be edited for space.  A phone number is helpful for follow up questions.

If you have any questions about the content of the site, please feel free to contact me.
